Six-month braces are a short-term orthodontic process that allows a patient to get the beautiful, straight smile they deserve without wearing traditional braces for 2-3 years. For many adult patients, this is the ideal solution to the crooked teeth, spaces or gaps that they’ve been embarrassed about for years!

Unlike with traditional braces, the focus of six month braces is not to fix the bite but is instead to improve the aesthetics of the front teeth. The focus is only on straightening the teeth that show when you smile. This is achieved using a combination of brackets and wires to move the teeth, similar to traditional orthodontics. The brackets and wires are tooth colored (white) and are barely visible.

Six-month braces move the teeth at the same rate as traditional orthodontics. The teeth are not being moved faster! The difference between six-month braces and traditional orthodontics is that the focus is not on the full mouth. Instead, six month braces focus entirely upon straightening the teeth that show when you smile. When choosing six month braces, the goal is not to perfect the bite in your back teeth, so treatment stops once the front teeth are beautifully positioned.

Because the focus is not on changing the bite, six-month braces can be finished much more quickly than traditional orthodontics. Most six-month braces will take about six months to complete. Some may take less, some may take more. However, a majority of cases take an average of six months.

Cannot recommend Laurel Pines and Dr. Samad highly enough. I came in on a Sunday with a dental emergency (an implant I had gotten from another surgeon had been placed incorrectly, and was being rejected from my body thus causing an immense amount of pain) and I was seen immediately.
