Meet the Doctors

Raised in Severna Park, MD, Dr. Shawn Samad is the proud son of Fred and Mary Samad, a working class couple that raised their children in a humble household. Dr. Samad grew up to be an avid sports fan. He still plays soccer regularly and is a HUGE Ravens fan! He went to college in Westminster, MD, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Biology and Chemistry with a special focus on Physics.

He then continued his education at UMBC where he worked on a Masters degree in Biology. He then attended University of Maryland School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.

Born in California, but attended a local school in Hong Kong and international school in Singapore respectively, Dr. Calvin Chang has been exposed to various cultures and met many different people growing up. He returned to USA and completed his undergraduate degree in UMBC and received his Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

He then attended Howard University, College of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Afterwards, he attended a general practice residency in st.Elizabeths Hospital, where he received extensive training in both dentistry and patient management.

Knowing how impairing dental anxiety is on oral health, he strives to make dental appointments as relaxing as possible.

Dr. Hansen grew up in Hemingford, NE and graduated from Hemingford High school. He received his Bachelors of Science degree with a major in Chemistry from Chadron State College. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry. Dr. Hansen is committed to continuing his education to provide a wide variety of services for his patients. Dr. Hansen is married to Alison, who is a physician in the Air Force. Dr. Hansen is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending his free time with his wife and three big dogs, Willy, Lambeau and Luna.

Dr. Vadaliya was born and raised in India. Grew up with her siblings and family.She finished her dental school and India and moved to United States. She continued to gain Advanced education in Dentistry at Rutgers University, where she completed Fellowship- Advanced Dental education in Diagnostic Science. Then joined Howard University where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

Dr. Vadaliya attends various continuing education courses and seminars to stay up to date with professional requirements and advances in technology. She is fluent in English, Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi. She loves to spend her time with family and hiking. She is artistic and creative.

Kenneth Chin was born in Kingston, Jamaica on June 30, 1964 and migrated to the United States in the summer of 1977.

Kenneth attended the University of Florida for his undergraduate studies then Howard University, College of Dentistry. Kenneth excelled, and was selected to the Dean's List all four years. He served as president of the senior dental class and was honored with the Mountain Climber Award in 1989. He was also the recipient of the National Dental Association (NDA) Foundation Scholarship Award in 1997 - 1999.

Kenneth was awarded the Student Award of Merit from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED) and the Student Certificate of Merit from the American Society of Dentistry for Children (ASDC) on the recommendation of the faculty. He graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree in 2000.

Dr. Chin was in private practice in Maryland from 2001 - 2011 then in private practice in New York from 2011 - 2018. Dr. Chin joined Laurel Pines Dental Group in December 2018.

Dr. Chin is married and has two sons Kyle (28 yrs.) and Kevyn (25 yrs.). He along with his wife, Cheryl, serve as shepherds for the DMV International Christian Church in Washington, DC.
