Dental Implants vs Dentures

Dental Implants Have Three Parts

  • 1.Titanium. Dental implants in Laurel, MD consist of a small titanium screw that is surgically placed in the jaw bone to mimic real teeth roots. Titanium is very body-friendly and fuses to the bone without complications.

  • 2.The abutment. The abutment is the part that is visible on the gum line and provides a place for the crown to sit.

  • 3.The crown. The crown is fastened to the abutment and looks and functions exactly like a real tooth would.

  • Dentures vs. Dental Implants: Just the Facts

  • They are made differently. Dentures are made with metal and plastic that many patients find irritating to their gums and/or uncomfortable to wear. Titanium-made dental implants are a healthier alternative, because they’re very tolerable and are implanted right in the jaw bone for a secure and lasting fit.

  • They address missing teeth differently. Dental implants can be used to replace one tooth or all of your teeth. A dental bridge Laurel, MD can replace a single tooth, but causes wear and tear on the two teeth it needs to function. And dentures are intended for patients who need to replace multiple missing teeth only.

  • They function differently. Dental implants Laurel, MD provide a permanent fix for missing teeth and are intended to last a long time if patients take care of them. Dentures fade fast and need to be replaced often. Dentures also sit along the gum line and will start to slip over time, making routine tasks, such as chewing and speaking a noisy, frustrating chore.

  • They treat bone differently. Dental implants are continuously interacting with your jaw bone to keep it healthy and strong, just as real tooth roots would. Dentures and dental bridges never make contact with your bone, which can actually cause it to disintegrate.

Cannot recommend Laurel Pines and Dr. Samad highly enough. I came in on a Sunday with a dental emergency (an implant I had gotten from another surgeon had been placed incorrectly, and was being rejected from my body thus causing an immense amount of pain) and I was seen immediately. Dr. Samad and his colleagues not only diagnosed the issue right away, but they also saw to it that I was seen for a corrective surgery within the same week.

First off, I never give anyone 5 stars, however, on a day like today I am. I was not paid to write this nor do I work for the company. I am usually the skeptic when it comes to those things so I want to make it known. I am a customer in need of some major help for my other half. This company is very professional, courteous, clean and respectful. I really appreciate Tammy and staff (forgot the young lady's name at the front desk along with Tammy).

Came in for an emergency root canal on a Saturday afternoon . Dr. Samad and all the staff were amazing. They were very supportive, willing to answer all questions and I could tell they genuinely wanted to help me get better. I highly recommend and they truly deserve 5 stars because 5 star service is what I received.

Dr. Samad and his team we're absolutely amazing. I was nervous about my procedure and didn't know what to expect. They made me so comfortable while I was there. Today is my first day in a long time with no pain! I am very thankful and grateful for they work they've done.
